Vacancy Announcement Applications are invited from suitably qualified Gambians to fill the following vacant position available at the Department of Physical Planning and Housing under the Ministry of Lands Regional Government and Religious Affairs, 13 Marina Parade, Banjul. Job Tittle: Physical Planning Officer, grade 8 Number of Vacancies: 1 position Qualification and Experience Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in physical planning, Building Technology, or Architecture from a recognized university Duties and Responsibilties At Headquarters: Are members of a multidisciplinary working group comprising experts in planning, architecture, sociology etc. Assists the Senior Physical Planning Officer in the following duties: Plans, monitors and controls the development within the Greater Banjul Area and the country as a whole. Prepare draft reviews of the Physical Development Plans, local and Action area plans and layout plans, etc.... And sets in motion the implementation of those plans. Scrutinize lease and land applications and advise the Director on appropriate courses of action. Liaises with local planning authorities and committees within his/her area of jurisdiction. Works under the Principal Physical Planning Officer. In the Provinces: Plan, monitor and control physical development. Prepare drafts and review Physical Development Plans, Local Plans, etc. Scrutinize lease and land applications and make recommendations to the Principal Physical Planning Officer. Act as Secretaries to the local planning authorities. Salary The salary attached to the position is Grade 8, of the Government Integrated New Pay Scale, i.e. D 101, 892.00 ( One hundred and one thousand eight hundred and ninty-two dalasi) per annum.
