VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Applications are invited from suitably qualified Gambians to fill the following vacant position available at the Directorate of Transport, Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, MDI Road, Kanifing. JOB TITLE: Transport Regulatory Officer, Grade 8 Number of Vacancies: (1 position) QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Direct Entry: Must have Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Transport Management, Urban planning, Public Policy, Economics with at least 1 year of relevant work experience in the transport sector, public policy implementation, or a related field. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the principal Transport Regulatory Officer, the Transport Regulatory Officer will: Contribute to the formulation, development, and periodic review of national transportation policies, strategies, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., National Transport Policy). Work closely with transport regulatory bodies such as the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the Gambia Maritime Administration (GMA), and other relevant institutions to ensure coordination, compliance, and harmonization of regulatory standards across all transport sub-sectors. Provide accurate information, clarification, and guidance to transport operators, service providers, and the general public regarding regulatory requirements and procedures. Collaborate with relevant government agencies, development partners, and sector stakeholders to address transport-related challenges and promote a safe, reliable, and sustainable transport system. Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to compliance levels, enforcement outcomes, and regulatory impact across all modes of transport. Participate in awareness-raising campaigns and stakeholder engagements aimed at promoting regulatory compliance and improving service delivery in the transport sector. Support the preparation of reports, policy briefs, and recommendations for regulatory reforms SALARY The salary attached to the position is Grade 8, of the Government Integrated New Pay Scale, i.e. D 101,892.00 ( One hundred and one thousand, eight hundred and ninety-two dalasi) per annum.
