Applications are invited from suitably qualified Gambians to fill in the vacant position at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Security under the Department of Planning.
Job Title: Data Analyst, Grade 8
Number of Vacancies: One (1) position
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information System, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
Duties and Responsibilities
The supervision and coordination of agriculture and natural resource data collation.
The analysis of data from all surveys in close consultation with both the Principal and Senior Statisticians;
The training of computer staff in data processing and analysis as well as the development of computer programming and computer-based data management techniques;
The organisation of the on-the-job training for senior and middle level staff in the use of some computer software such as word-processing, spreadsheet and statistical software packages;
The provision and management of effective backup systems for all the data-sets; and
The provision of technical assistance and advisory services in the use of computers and computer software to needy staff both at senior and middle level management.
Skills
The candidate should be proficient in any of the following data analysis software: Microsoft excel (advance), SPSS, STATA, R, Pyton or SAS. Data collection tools such as Kobo toolbox, ODK and SURVEY SOLUTION.
Salary
The salary attached to the position is Grade 8 of the New Government Integrated Pay Scale, i.e. GMD 101, 892.00 ( One Hundred and one Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety-two Dalasi) Per Annum.
