About the Students Revolving Loan Scheme (SRLS)
The Students Revolving Loan Scheme is a newly established national financing mechanism created under the Students Revolving Loan Act to expand equitable access to higher and tertiary education in The Gambia. The Scheme operates as a sustainable revolving fund that supports current students and reinvests repayments to benefit future students.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Programmes Assistant will support the development and continuous improvement of all programmes of the Students Revolving Loan Scheme (SRLS), contribute to research and learning, and stakeholder engagement. In this capacity, the Employee shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Programme Management
Support the development and operationalisation of SRLS’s programme portfolio;
Support institutional programme planning and policy development;
Support the development and quality assurance of programme frameworks;
Implement and coordinate all SRLS programmes;
Resource Mobilisation
Contribute to the design and management of fundraising mechanisms;
Support institutional resource mobilisation efforts;
Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning
Support Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) function for SRLS programmes;
Contribute to adaptive programme management through learning, evidence generation, and continuous improvement;
Learn from funded initiatives to inform future SRLS strategy, policy dialogue, and programme refinement;
Work closely with the institutional MEL and Knowledge Management functions;
Partnerships and Engagements
Implement Support strategic partnership initiatives and engagement with stakeholders;
Work closely with programme staff, technical experts, and consultants, fostering a results-oriented, accountable, and collaborative Programme Directorate;
Additional Duties
Perform any other duties consistent with the position of Programmes Assistant as may be assigned by Management in furtherance of the mandate and strategic objectives of the Students Revolving Loan Scheme.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in education, economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, or related field.
At least 3 years of experience in programme management, stakeholder engagement, research, and/or policy analysis.
Strong background in programme management preferred.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong programme management competence
Stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Ability to synthesize complex information for policy audiences
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Fluency in at least two national languages
