We partner with reputable international manufacturers to supply quality instruments, reagents, and consumables, supported by training, application expertise, and dependable after-sales service. The Opportunity We are seeking a Scientific Application Specialist to provide expert application support for our diagnostic, laboratory, and scientific product portfolio. The successful candidate will help customers select, implement, and use Ecomed-supported solutions correctly and effectively through demonstrations, workflow assessment, user training, application troubleshooting, and post-installation follow-up. This is a specialist role within Technical Services. The SAS will work closely with Key Account Managers, who remain the overall relationship owners for assigned customers, and with Service Engineers, who lead equipment installation, maintenance, and repair. Key Responsibilities Provide pre-sales and post-sales scientific and application support for assigned products and solutions. Conduct product demonstrations, workflow assessments, application setup, and structured end-user training. Support customers with application-related troubleshooting, method use, workflow improvement, and product adoption. Work alongside Service Engineers during installation, commissioning, and verification activities where application expertise is required. Support technical presentations, evaluations, quotations, proposals, tenders, and RFQs with accurate scientific input. Conduct post-installation and post-training follow-up and recommend corrective training or application actions where needed. Maintain complete records of demonstrations, training, customer feedback, application visits, findings, and closure actions. Escalate equipment faults, complex application issues, quality concerns, and safety risks through the appropriate channels. Maintain current product knowledge through manufacturer training, continuous learning, and collaboration with OEM application specialists. Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or another relevant scientific discipline. Practical laboratory experience; experience with diagnostics, laboratory instrumentation, or scientific equipment is strongly preferred. Strong ability to understand and clearly explain scientific concepts, methods, instrument applications, and workflows. Confident presentation, facilitation, and end-user training skills. Good analytical, application-troubleshooting, and technical documentation ability. Professional, customer-focused, and able to collaborate effectively with commercial teams, engineers, and international manufacturers. Strong written and spoken communication skills and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
