Administrative - Business development - Communication & Public Relations - IT / Engineering - Monitoring and Evaluation Job Overview Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) Number of Candidates: 1 (One) Reporting to: Director, Social and Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) Station: Kwinella Radio Station Deadline: 12.00hrs (Local Time) Wednesday 2nd September 2026 Background The National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) is a semi-autonomous government institution under the Office of the Vice President, charged with the responsibility of coordinating all nutrition and nutrition related activities in the country. Nutrition being a crucial component of any development plan and agenda, it has been recognized that mass media as part of Social and Behavioural Change Communication is a critical component of NaNA’s work. Therefore, NaNA invests a lot in disseminating information through the use of radios. Leveraging on this, the Agency through support from partners, established an Institutional Radio Station (NaNA FM), a nationwide radio station that will bring Social and Behavioural Change Communication messages to a wider audience, reaching vulnerable persons, and groups such as pregnant women, lactating mothers, children, and the elderly throughout the country. The radio will aim to enhance communication and outreach efforts, particularly in the areas of Nutrition, Health, Education, Agriculture, Social Protection and other development topics. To ensure the successful management and operationalization of the radio station, NaNA seeks to employ a Radio Technician to be stationed at NaNA’s Kwinella Radio Station in LRR. Objective: To ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and technical support of radio communication systems and related equipment, in line with national standards and organizational objectives. Duties and Responsibilities: Operate and manage radio communication systems for the Agency. Perform regular maintenance checks (monitoring) and repairs on this equipment to ensure optimal performance Monitoring the strength, clarity, and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals, adjusting equipment like transmitters, receivers, and related electronic systems as needed to maintain broadcast quality Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly by diagnosing and fixing problems with radio equipment, both hardware and software. Ensure compliance with all applicable communication regulations and standards. Maintain accurate and updated logs of communication activity and system performance. Maintaining accurate records of equipment status and maintenance activities. Provide technical training and user support to colleagues and stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments, agencies and other institutions to support coordinated communication. Assist in designing and implementing communication protocols and procedures. Respond to technical emergencies and provide support during critical operations. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director General or his/her designate Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate must possess: A Diploma or its equivalent in Radio Technician or a related field. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience as a Radio Technician. Additional Competencies: Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Fluent in at least two (2) local languages. Proficiency in common desktop applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong technical skills in electronics, Radio Frequency (RF) engineering, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in technical issues Capacity to work under pressure and in demanding environments. Willingness to work on rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Report writing abilities.
