Administrative - Business development - Communication & Public Relations - IT / Engineering - Monitoring and Evaluation - Operations - Other Job Overview Reports to: Managing Director Provides strategic leadership and oversight for NAWEC’s Water and Sewerage Business Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable water supply and wastewater services throughout The Gambia. Accountable for the overall performance of water production, treatment, distribution, wastewater collection, sewerage operations, and commercial services. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the Water Business Strategy aligned with national water priorities Provide oversight of water production, treatment, distribution, and wastewater operations Drive non-revenue water reduction, water quality improvement, and service continuity Lead business transformation and champion smart water management systems Ensure compliance with environmental standards and governance requirements Promote HSSE, environmental stewardship, and public health protection Represent NAWEC with regulators, government institutions, and development partners Qualifications & Experience Master’s Degree in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline Professional Engineering Registration — added advantage Certifications in Project Management, Asset Management, or Environmental Management — advantage Minimum 10 years in water, wastewater, utilities, or infrastructure At least 5 years in a senior executive or strategic leadership role Experience in water production, distribution, wastewater, and sewerage management.
